I am planning a honeymoon to Europe with my fiancee to some major tourist destinations but I was hoping to add in for a few days a more relaxing place as well. Especially since the major cities are filled with museums, churches, historic sites, etc. We are looking for a western european city that will have resort like places but still enough to do for a few days. Also a city with a big enough airport that we can fly to it direct from major airports (London, Paris, Rome). Thanks!

Is it true that the more power you try to use the more chance you will do a slice or a push fade?

I noticed that when I relax my arm and just try to think of my clubhead and arms like a wrecking ball attached to a rope, my shots goes further drastically and straighter, even a hook at times.

PLus it feels as if the clubhead cuts through the ball like butter with no resistance and no jarring to my arms.

If this is correct, how do I attain that “power off the arms and turn the body and let the arms follow” mentallity?

Hello all,

My first post and just wanna say how excited I am to start getting into this great game. I’ve always had a low opinion about golf, up until I started playing it on the Wii about 6 months ago. That got me interested and I spent some time at my local sports authority, shooting in their back room.
I realized then how challenging the game is, unlike anything I’ve ever played. After swinging and putting around for several days, I decided to get into it. I bought an inexpensive set, a bag of recycled balls and a putting hole for home. Watched MANY YouTube videos, read several articles and guides, and purchased (for half price) the Peak Performance Golf Swing (PPGS) guide. My grip, stance and posture are much improved since I started and I’m feeling more comfortable with the club. I’m still having difficulty with woods and irons.
I’m trying to start off using the PPGS so that I don’t have to relearn it later. It makes the most sense to me. I have yet to spend actual time in the range, but I was wondering,
Are lessons essential for beginning golfers?

I live not to far from Chelsea Piers in NYC and they have a Golf Academy that has pretty good rates for beginner golfers. Since I’ve been trying to pick up the PPGS, would I still need lessons even though some concepts and drills would run counter to PPGS?
