Is it true that the more power you try to use the more chance you will do a slice or a push fade?

I noticed that when I relax my arm and just try to think of my clubhead and arms like a wrecking ball attached to a rope, my shots goes further drastically and straighter, even a hook at times.

PLus it feels as if the clubhead cuts through the ball like butter with no resistance and no jarring to my arms.

If this is correct, how do I attain that “power off the arms and turn the body and let the arms follow” mentallity?
